After her murals have appeared in countless cities and almost every European country, Hyuro now targets a large wall near Cologne’s Hansaring train station (to be seen from Maybachstraße). Already from afar, Hyuro’s politically engaged works proclaim their will to communicate the inner dialogue we are all constantly involved in. Notably, they seem to depict the chasm all too often opening up between our ambitious ideals and actual lives. Inspired by the reality of public life in Cologne’s Agnesviertel and thus aiming to make her work resonate with local residents, the artist’s mural reflects on the forms and constraints brought about by capitalism.
